Description

Overview

The Shure RPM626 is an in-line microphone preamp designed specifically for the Shure Beta 98AD/C miniature condenser microphone. It delivers clean gain and reliable phantom power, ensuring detailed and accurate audio capture for drums and percussion instruments. By relocating the preamp closer to your mixer and away from the drum shell, it preserves every transient and nuance, making it a strong choice for both live performances and studio recordings.

Its robust RF shielding effectively blocks interference from wireless systems and LED lighting, while the generous headroom maintains clarity even during loud passages. The included 15-foot heavy-duty cable allows flexible and tidy routing from the drum riser to stage boxes or racks, supporting consistent and dependable setups night after night.

Connectivity and compatibility

The RPM626 connects directly to the Beta 98AD/C microphone and extends the signal via a 15-foot cable to your mixing console or stage box. This setup reduces cable clutter on stage and keeps the preamp away from the drum shell, which helps maintain signal integrity. Its compatibility with the Beta 98AD/C’s cardioid pattern ensures focused sound capture, making it well suited for drum kits, percussion setups, and live sound reinforcement.

Installation and setup

Installation is straightforward with the included A98D gooseneck mount, which slips onto snares, toms, congas, or other percussion instruments. The mount locks firmly in place, allowing consistent mic positioning for reliable sound capture. The 15-foot cable length provides ample flexibility to route the signal cleanly from the drum riser to your mixer or rack, keeping your stage setup organized and efficient.

Ideal uses and environments

This preamp is a strong choice for drummers, percussionists, and sound engineers who need precise and clear audio capture in both live and studio environments. It excels in situations where high sound pressure levels and potential RF interference are concerns, such as concert stages, rehearsal spaces, and recording studios. The RPM626 helps capture everything from explosive accents to subtle ghost notes with clarity and detail, making it a valuable tool for professional drum and percussion miking.

Product warranty

We act solely as a reseller. Any product warranty is provided and administered by the manufacturer, not by our store. That means eligibility, coverage, and outcomes are determined by the manufacturer’s policy for each brand and model. Before purchasing, we recommend reviewing the warranty terms on the manufacturer’s website or in the product documentation to confirm what is covered and for how long.

If you need warranty service, please file the claim directly with the manufacturer. They may require proof of purchase, the product serial number, original packaging, photos, or basic troubleshooting. Some brands ask you to register the product or obtain a case number before shipping it for repair or replacement. We don’t submit or approve claims, but we can point you to the correct support links and contact details.

Keep your invoice and packaging in a safe place, and report any functional issues to the manufacturer as soon as they appear. If you’re unsure whether a problem is covered, the manufacturer’s support team can confirm next steps and timelines. While we cannot intervene in decisions or outcomes, we’re happy to provide purchase documentation or guidance so you can move through the warranty process smoothly.
