Barco

In 1934, Lucien De Puydt founded the Belgian American Radio Corporation, or "Barco," in Poperinge, Belgium. He started by assembling radios using parts imported from the United States. After Lucien's passing in 1941, radio pioneer Camiel Descamps revitalized the company in Kortrijk. In 1949, Barco ventured into television technology, launching prototypes ahead of other Belgian manufacturers. By 1967, they were among the first European companies to introduce color TVs. In 1979, Barco entered the projection market with CRT projectors for airplanes. Over the years, Barco expanded into various technologies, including projectors and display systems, significantly influencing the broadcasting, film, and industrial markets. Today, Barco is known for its advanced display solutions used in entertainment, healthcare, and business settings worldwide.
