The NVIDIA MCA7J70 is an 800 Gb/s direct attach splitter cable with a twin-port OSFP connector on one end and four 200 Gb/s OSFP connectors on the other. It uses active copper technology with built-in equalization to extend length to 5 meters while maintaining low latency and low power draw, operating at 1.5 Watts. Each connector supports 100G-PAM4 modulation and includes EEPROM for system-level identification. The cable supports both InfiniBand and Ethernet protocols and is built with LSZH jacket and 26 AWG copper for data center compliance. It connects Quantum-2 or Spectrum-4 switches to OSFP-based ConnectX-7 PCIe adapters. It is used in high-speed, short-reach networking environments that prioritize power efficiency and density.
