Description

Overview

The APC NBHN125 is a NetBotz rack access kit designed to replace standard rack door handles with two access-controlled handles, one for the front door and one for the rear. It provides secure, card-based access control using 125 kHz proximity cards and allows administrators to manage who can open racks and when, either locally or remotely through EcoStruxure IT software. This solution fits well in data centers, colocation suites, edge computing rooms, and secure network closets where multiple technicians require controlled access.

Key features
  • Two handles provide controlled access to both front and rear rack doors, enhancing physical security.
  • Uses widely supported 125 kHz proximity cards for straightforward local entry without complex credentials.
  • Remote door control and event logging through EcoStruxure IT software enable centralized management and audit trails.
  • Supports connection of up to 26 handles to a single NetBotz 750 appliance, simplifying large-scale deployments.
  • Compact controller mounts in just 1U of rack space, preserving valuable rack real estate.
  • Records every door event and sends alerts if a door is left open, helping maintain compliance with security policies.
  • Designed to operate reliably in typical IT environments with temperature tolerance from 0 to 45 °C and humidity up to 95 percent.
Key specs
  • Access technology: 125 kHz proximity cards
  • Number of handles: 2 (front and rear rack doors)
  • Controller rack space: 1U
  • Maximum handles per NetBotz 750 appliance: 26
  • Operating temperature range: 0 to 45 °C
  • Humidity tolerance: 0 to 95 percent
Connectivity and compatibility

The NBHN125 integrates seamlessly with the NetBotz 750 appliance, which acts as the central controller for up to 26 handles. This setup allows for both local access via proximity cards and remote management through EcoStruxure IT software. The system’s compatibility with standard 125 kHz cards means it can fit into existing security infrastructures without requiring specialized credentials or hardware.

Installation and setup

Installation is straightforward and rack-friendly, with the controller occupying only 1U of space. The access-controlled handles replace existing rack door handles without major modifications, minimizing downtime during deployment. This ease of installation makes it practical for both small server rooms and large data centers looking to enhance physical security quickly.

Ideal uses and environments

This access kit is well suited to environments where multiple technicians or service providers need controlled, auditable access to racks. It works effectively in data centers, colocation facilities, edge computing sites, and secure network closets. The system’s ability to log door events and send alerts supports compliance with internal security policies and external regulations, making it a strong choice for organizations prioritizing physical security at the rack level.

Product warranty

We act solely as a reseller. Any product warranty is provided and administered by the manufacturer, not by our store. That means eligibility, coverage, and outcomes are determined by the manufacturer’s policy for each brand and model. Before purchasing, we recommend reviewing the warranty terms on the manufacturer’s website or in the product documentation to confirm what is covered and for how long.

If you need warranty service, please file the claim directly with the manufacturer. They may require proof of purchase, the product serial number, original packaging, photos, or basic troubleshooting. Some brands ask you to register the product or obtain a case number before shipping it for repair or replacement. We don’t submit or approve claims, but we can point you to the correct support links and contact details.

Keep your invoice and packaging in a safe place, and report any functional issues to the manufacturer as soon as they appear. If you’re unsure whether a problem is covered, the manufacturer’s support team can confirm next steps and timelines. While we cannot intervene in decisions or outcomes, we’re happy to provide purchase documentation or guidance so you can move through the warranty process smoothly.
