Description

Overview

The HPE JD368B is a two-port 10 Gigabit SFP+ switch module designed to expand the bandwidth capacity of HPE 5500, 5120, and 5830 Series switches. It provides dedicated 10 Gbps uplinks that help alleviate network bottlenecks, making it suitable for data-intensive environments such as virtualization clusters, storage replication, and high-definition multimedia distribution. The module supports VLAN segmentation, Quality of Service (QoS) traffic prioritization, and IPv6, ensuring compatibility with modern enterprise network requirements.

Installation is simple, as the module fits into the appropriate expansion slot and accepts standard SFP+ transceivers, allowing flexible integration with existing fiber or copper infrastructure. Its compact size and lightweight design make it practical for use in data centers, branch offices, and campus networks where space and resources may be limited.

Key features
  • Adds two 10 Gigabit Ethernet SFP+ ports to compatible HPE switches, increasing uplink capacity without replacing the entire switch stack
  • Supports VLAN segmentation to improve network organization and security
  • Quality of Service (QoS) prioritization ensures critical traffic receives appropriate bandwidth and low latency
  • IPv6 support prepares networks for future addressing and routing needs
  • Compatible with standard SFP+ transceivers, allowing you to select optics that match your existing cabling infrastructure
  • Compact and lightweight design facilitates easy installation even in tight rack spaces or remote locations

Connectivity and compatibility

This module integrates seamlessly with HPE 5500, 5120, and 5830 Series switches, providing high-speed uplinks that connect access and aggregation layers or link switches to servers handling heavy east-west traffic. Its support for standard SFP+ transceivers means you can choose from a variety of fiber or copper optics to match your existing network cabling, ensuring flexible deployment options across different environments.

Ideal uses and environments

The JD368B module is well suited to enterprise networks that require increased uplink bandwidth without the expense of replacing entire switch stacks. It works effectively in data centers managing high-volume backup and replication traffic, as well as in campus cores where multiple wiring closets converge. Its support for VLAN and QoS makes it a strong choice for organizations that need to segment traffic and prioritize critical applications, while IPv6 readiness ensures long-term network scalability.

Product warranty

We act solely as a reseller. Any product warranty is provided and administered by the manufacturer, not by our store. That means eligibility, coverage, and outcomes are determined by the manufacturer’s policy for each brand and model. Before purchasing, we recommend reviewing the warranty terms on the manufacturer’s website or in the product documentation to confirm what is covered and for how long.

If you need warranty service, please file the claim directly with the manufacturer. They may require proof of purchase, the product serial number, original packaging, photos, or basic troubleshooting. Some brands ask you to register the product or obtain a case number before shipping it for repair or replacement. We don’t submit or approve claims, but we can point you to the correct support links and contact details.

Keep your invoice and packaging in a safe place, and report any functional issues to the manufacturer as soon as they appear. If you’re unsure whether a problem is covered, the manufacturer’s support team can confirm next steps and timelines. While we cannot intervene in decisions or outcomes, we’re happy to provide purchase documentation or guidance so you can move through the warranty process smoothly.
