ELAC

In 1926, ELAC (Electroacustic GmbH) was founded in Kiel, Germany, initially focusing on developing sonar technology and researching sound transmission in water and air. After World War II, the company shifted to consumer electronics, producing items like sewing machines and, notably, their first record player, the PW1, in 1948. This move marked ELAC's entry into the audio market, where they gained recognition for their high-quality turntables throughout the 1970s and 1980s. In 1984, ELAC expanded into designing loudspeakers, collaborating with AXIOM Electroacoustic Speaker Specialists. A year later, they introduced the 4Pi omnidirectional tweeter, which solidified their reputation among elite speaker manufacturers. Continuing their tradition of innovation, ELAC unveiled the JET folded-ribbon tweeter in 1993, known for its extended frequency response. Today, ELAC is celebrated for its commitment to audio excellence, offering a diverse range of speakers and electronics that bring music to life.
