Brother

In 1908, Kanekichi Yasui started a small sewing machine repair business in Nagoya, Japan, to help local customers keep their machines running. After his sons took over, they renamed the company Yasui Brothers' Sewing Machine Company and began building their own products. In 1928, they created their first original machine, a chain-stitch sewing machine for making straw hats, and in 1932, they introduced their first home-use sewing machine. Over the years, the company expanded beyond sewing machines into typewriters, printers, and fax machines. Now known as Brother Industries, the company provides a wide range of products, including printers, sewing machines, and label makers, serving homes and businesses worldwide with a focus on reliability and practical solutions.
