Mobile Pixels

In 2016, Jack Yao founded Mobile Pixels in Massachusetts after experiencing frustration with the limited screen space on his laptop during a summer internship at Amazon. To address this, he built a portable, attachable monitor using parts from a broken laptop. Recognizing the potential of his invention, Jack collaborated with his roommate, Stephen Ng, a mechanical engineering student at Northeastern University, to refine the prototype. They officially launched Mobile Pixels in January 2018, focusing on creating portable monitors to enhance productivity for professionals on the go. Their first product, the DUEX, gained significant attention through a successful crowdfunding campaign, raising over $1 million in pre-orders. The company continued to innovate, releasing products like the TRIO and DUEX Max, and expanded its reach globally. By the end of 2020, Mobile Pixels had grown to 13 employees and achieved $13.6 million in sales. Today, the company is recognized for its commitment to improving mobile work efficiency through innovative display solutions.
